What your client sees
Parties get access to the client portal in one of two ways:
- Automatically — the moment a party signs their submission form, a portal account is created for them: they land in the portal right after signing and receive an invitation email with their personal link and access code.
- By invitation — you can also invite a party manually, from the party list on the client’s Information tab.
Either way, they get their own limited view of their file. This page describes what they see, so you can support them when questions come up.
Signing in
Section titled “Signing in”The portal invitation email contains a personal link. For security, the portal asks for a code that is included in the same email; the party can request the code again from the sign-in screen if they’ve lost it. If someone is connected to more than one client entity, they may have multiple portal accounts and can switch between them.
What’s in the portal
Section titled “What’s in the portal”The portal welcomes the party by name and shows which client entity they are viewing. The menu:
- Overview — the landing page with a summary of the sections below.
- History — every change made to the structure over time: shareholders added or updated, directors changed, and so on, each with old and new values.
- Provided information — the personal and company information they entered during onboarding, for their own records.
- Documents — all documents associated with their account.
- CGA license details — the license documents, seals and license conditions supplied by your team (see Managing the license), and a dropbox where the party can upload CGA documents themselves.
- Message center — send and receive messages with your team. Messages can also be tagged to a specific document, seal or license condition.
- News & Insights — a link to news on your organization’s website.
Can clients change their information?
Section titled “Can clients change their information?”By default the portal is a viewing environment. Whether a party can update information is controlled by portal permissions, which you manage per party from the dashboard. A party without update permission sees a Request permission button, which sends the request to your team. The full flow — permissions, granting requests, and how every portal change is automatically routed into a review — is covered in Changes via the portal.
Managing portal access
Section titled “Managing portal access”From the party list on the Information tab you can:
- Invite a party for the portal (with a role-appropriate invitation email).
- Update portal permissions — control what the party may see and change.
- Revoke portal access — switch off a party’s portal account at any time.
