About the CGA
The Curaçao Gaming Authority (CGA) is the regulator for games of chance in Curaçao. It issues and supervises the licenses your clients apply for, including the Online Gaming License (OGL) for online gaming operators.
The licensing landscape in short
Section titled “The licensing landscape in short”- Since the LOK (Landsverordening op de kansspelen, the National Ordinance on Games of Chance, in force since late 2024), licenses are issued directly by the CGA. The old master-license system of the former Gaming Control Board (GCB) has been phased out.
- Applications are submitted through the CGA’s own License Management Portal and are processed in phases; per phase the CGA aims at a processing time of around eight weeks once all documents are complete.
- Applicants must meet local requirements — for example, a legal entity established in Curaçao with local management. The application asks for extensive documentation about the company, its finances, and the personal history of everyone behind it.
- Licensed operators must display a CGA seal on every licensed website. Visitors can click the seal to verify the license on the CGA’s certificate validator, which shows the domain, the operator and the current license status.
How BECCO E-gaming fits in
Section titled “How BECCO E-gaming fits in”The onboarding flow collects exactly the information and documents the CGA application asks for. Once that information is verified, the dashboard helps you with the license application and everything after it:
- Generate the official application forms — the Business and Corporate Information Form, the Online Gaming License Application Form and the Personal History Disclosure Forms are produced automatically from the verified onboarding data.
- Manage the license on the client — keep the CGA credentials, license documents, seals and CGA conditions together on the client’s CGA license tab, with your client looking at the same information in their portal.
GCB — the old name
Section titled “GCB — the old name”You may still come across the name Gaming Control Board (GCB): that is what the CGA was called before the LOK. In the dashboard you’ll see it in one place — the form-version selector when exporting application forms, where the pre-2025 forms are labelled “GCB” and the current ones “CGA”.
