What are linked parties?
The same person or company often appears in more than one client’s structure: a director who sits on several boards, a holding company behind multiple applicants. Rather than entering, onboarding and screening that party again for every client, you can link the existing party into the new structure.
A linked party is a reference, not a copy. The party keeps living in the client where it was originally created (the source client); other clients on your platform borrow it.
What is shared, and what stays local
Section titled “What is shared, and what stays local”Shared from the source:
- The party’s identity and form data — the person fills in their submission form once.
- The verification outcome and the PEP and Sanction hit indicators.
- The documents — these stay at the source client.
- The compliance work — reviews of the source client that cover this party are visible on every client that links it, as linked reviews.
Local to each client that uses the party:
- Its position in the structure — where it hangs in the organization chart, and its ownership percentage there.
Recognizing a linked party
Section titled “Recognizing a linked party”Linked parties are marked with a chain link icon and a “Globally linked” tooltip in the party list, the documents overview and the export dialog. When you open one, the dialog is read-only and tells you: “This party has been globally linked. This means that only the original source can be updated.” — with a shortcut to jump to the source client.
In short: everything happens at the source. Editing, documents, screening, portal invitations and reviews for a linked party are all done on the source client; the linking client only uses the result.
