Internal chats

The Chats tab of a client is your team’s internal discussion space for that client. Clients and parties can never see it — it is strictly between the dashboard users of your platform.

You can chat one-on-one with any team member, or create a group chat with two or more participants — for example one group per client team. The chat list shows active conversations first and can be searched.

Messages support:

  • @mentions — type @ to mention a group member; mentions drive the notifications below.
  • Quoting — reply to a specific earlier message to keep context.
  • Attachments — images and PDFs.
  • Editing — messages can be edited afterwards; the history is kept.

Unread activity is visible in three places:

  • A badge on the client page header with the number of unread messages for that client.
  • An indicator in the client list, so you can see which clients have unread chat activity.
  • The chat overview panel in the navigation: all your unread direct messages and mentions across every client in one list.

If a direct message to you, or a group message that @mentions you, is still unread after a few minutes, the system emails you with a See message button that links to the client’s chat. Messages you have already read never trigger an email.
