Working with linked parties
Linking a party
Section titled “Linking a party”Linking happens while building the structure, in the same dialog you use to add a shareholder or director:
-
In the Structure section of the submission form, add a shareholder or director as usual.
-
In the linking step of the dialog, the dashboard offers existing parties to link instead of creating a new one, grouped by origin: parties of this client, archived parties, and parties available in the whitelabel — that last group is every original party from the other clients on your platform.
-
Select the party and press Link party. The party appears in the structure with a chain-link icon; its details come from the source client.
The dashboard enforces a few rules:
- Only original parties can be linked — you cannot link a party that is itself a link.
- The party must come from a different client on your platform.
- Linking a legal entity brings its ownership tree along; circular structures are blocked.
- Linking is a dashboard feature: parties never see or use it in their own forms.
What you can (and cannot) do with it
Section titled “What you can (and cannot) do with it”Within the client that borrows the party you can position it in the chart and give it an ownership percentage — that is structure information, which is local. Everything else is managed at the source client:
| Action | Where it happens |
|---|---|
| Editing the party’s information | Source client only — dialogs here open read-only |
| Documents | Stored at the source client |
| Screening | Runs on the source client; the PEP and sanction indicators carry over |
| Portal invitation | Sent from the source client |
| Reviews and checks | Performed on the source client — surfaced here as linked reviews |
Use the shortcut in the party’s dialog to jump straight to the source client. Linked parties never block or drive this client’s statuses; in the organization chart they always count as complete.
Removing a link
Section titled “Removing a link”To take a linked party out of a structure, delete its node from the organization chart. This only removes the reference — the original party at the source client is untouched.
Linked reviews
Section titled “Linked reviews”On the Reviews tab, reviews are shown in two groups. Below the client’s own reviews, the Linked reviews section lists reviews from other clients that cover a party this client has linked — each marked with a Linked badge.
This is reused compliance work: if the source client already verified this person in a review, you see that here instead of reviewing the same person twice. Linked reviews are view-only — within them, only the checks for the linked party are shown, and the View original review action takes you to the source client for the full picture.
